Fonds documents the functions and activities of the Mount Royal Faculty Association, including collective bargaining, advocacy, and providing professional development opportunities and other services to its members. Fonds is divided into four series: collective bargaining, university/college administrative and reference documents, professional development, and social events. Fonds contains collective agreements, negotiation working files, photographs, reports, correspondence, minutes, newsletters, handbooks and guides, bylaws, and financial statements.

Restructured planning and budget building process

File contains a draft proposal created by the MRFA, Mount Royal Support Staff Association, and the Students' Association of Mount Royal College, regarding a restructured planning and budget building process. File also contains a letter to the MRFA from the Board of Governors with their response to the proposal.

MRC mandate transformation

MRC Presidential appointment

File contains correspondence regarding the MRFA's union certificate, interview questions, and reference materials from other Alberta institutions relating to admission requirements and academic freedom. File also contains an invitation, program, and announcement regarding the installation of Douglas Lauchlan as MRC President.

Pamphlets

File documents campus programs and services for faculty. File contains event notices, bylaws of the faculty association, brochures listing workshops and seminars, workshop/event agendas, funding information for personal and professional development, tenure application forms, a Faculty Tenure Committee pamphlet, Professional Standards Committee brochure, Student's Association services directory, part-time faculty handbook, pension plan handbook, campus recreation brochure, and employee benefits booklet.
File also contains the publications "A Guide for Board Members of Public Colleges and Universities" by Richard T. Ingram and "Memorandum to the Government of Canada" by the Canadian Labour Congress.

Association administration

File documents the general administration of the MRFA. File contains recommendations from the Faculty Centre management, proposed bylaw revisions, collective agreements between the Mount Royal Support Staff Association (MRSSA) and Mount Royal College, a final report from the Workload Committee, a faculty handbook, an Economic Policy Committee bulletin, and an MRFA conference agenda.

Cross appointments

Collective bargaining

File documents negotiations related to faculty salaries. File contains correspondence, memoranda, committee minutes, charts comparing faculty and non-teaching staff salaries and benefits, comparisons of salaries at other colleges, projected costs of increases to faculty salaries, and results of a faculty work load survey.

Salary negotiations

File documents salary negotiations as part of the the collective agreement bargaining between the MRFA and Mount Royal College. File contains correspondence, news articles, lists of faculty salaries, proposed changes to faculty salary grids, recommendations from a Conciliation Commissioner, a tenure proposal, report from the Exploration Committee, and a collective agreement between the Calgary School District no. 9 and the Alberta Teacher's Association.

MRFA - negotiations 69/70

File documents contentious contract negotiations between the MRFA and Mount Royal College. File contains correspondence, memoranda, draft contract articles, salary scales, notes, faculty workload calculations, MRFA minutes, a report from the Exploration Committee, the MRFA's constitution, a list of association members, and a conciliation submission from the Board of Governors to the MRFA.
