An inscription at the beginning of the manuscript indicates that Ellis gifted his transcription to his uncle Samuel Walker of York in gratitude for offering him shelter when he fled "the troubles in Ireland."

Saint Clement Danes is currently the central church of the Royal Air Force, while All-Hallows-the-Great and the Less have been demolished.

Item is a letter from John Brown to William Bulling, the Secretary of the Edinburgh Cemetery. The letter seems to relate to a situation wherein one of the employees of Brown's minibus company had driven irresponsibly through the cemetery. Bulling was holding Brown accountable, and in the letter Brown both offers an apology and requests one of his own, claiming he himself had done no wrong.

According to the correspondence, the writer lives in London and is well connected and very involved in musical and theatrical productions with the Luxemburg Orchestra and Sir Henry Wood. The letters include a number of drawings including a portrait of their mutual friend at a Christmas party, Sir Henry Wood conducting an orchestra, and Bill dancing with a woman he refers to as 'the Duchess.'
