Universities Coordinating Council

Subseries documents the interactions of Mount Royal's nursing faculty with the Nursing Education Survey Team (NEST), a body of the Universities Coordinating Council Committee on Nursing Education (UCCCNE). The Universities Coordinating Council (UCC) was created in 1966 under the Universities Act to serve as an advisory body to the Minister of Education on matters of new program approvals. NEST was first formed in 1961 by the Minister of Health for the purpose of bringing recommendations related to the training of nurses and the development of new programs to increase the supply of nurses and maintain a high level of nursing standards in the province. The authority to make regulations regarding nursing education became the purview of the UCC through the Registered Nurses Act. Subseries contains correspondence, memoranda, self-evaluations, appraisal reports, annual reports, survey results, program and course information, and NEST recommendations.

Photo albums

Series contains photo albums documenting the construction of the Lincoln Park Campus from the groundbreaking ceremony to the 82nd week of construction. The photo albums consist of photographs with descriptive captions and site map illustrations showing exactly where each photo was taken. Series also contains materials that were used in the creation of the photo albums such as contact sheets, site plan illustrations, and descriptive captions.

Library administration

Series documents the administration of the Mount Royal College library, including the planning of renovations and art displays, user feedback, and communications.

Blueprint for survival

Series consists of "Blueprint for survival" pamphlets which were intended for the civilian population containing and contained survival plans and other information to prepare for the possibility of nuclear attack. These pamphlets were published by various Canadian government departments and distributed by the Emergency Measures Organization.

Series consists of English and French legal documents enacting or recording the transfer of property or rights from one person or group to another. Minding the future speaker series

Series contains video recordings of guest lecturers invited to speak on their areas of expertise as part of a speaker series organized by the Mount Royal College Foundation. The lectures were designed to look towards the future and inspire change and innovation.

Committee and task force meeting minutes

Series documents the meetings of several committees and task forces that reported to the Board of Governors, particularly the Staff Committee, Finance Committee, and Executive Committee. The Staff Committee was responsible for hiring and negotiating contracts and compensation for faculty members. The Finance Committee was responsible for monitoring and maintaining the finances of the college and approving major expenditures. The Executive Committee had the authority to transact all of the business of the Board of Governors and college in-between meetings of the full Board of Governors.
