Scope and content

Volume I ranges from A-Coo in the Catalogue of the Glenbow Historical Library. Item contains facsimiles of card catalogues describing the holdings of the Glenbow Historical Library from 1955-1973. The Library of the Glenbow-Alberta Institute was a research library which served the needs of researchers in the history and development of Western and Northern Canada. The Library focused on acquiring material related to the Prairie region of Canada and its bordering states. Two important collections, the Canadiana library of D.C. Coleman, a former president of the Canadian Pacific Railway, and an Arctic collection from Vilhjalmur Stefansson, the Arctic explorer, are contained here.
